Our mission is to provide information services on conservation
and sustainable use of species and ecosystems, and support others in
the development of their own information systems.
To support environmental protection, we need first
to support others by supplying policy makers, planners and industry
worldwide with accurate information on global biodiversity. The three
principal services offered by WCMC are:
Information Services
and Training: facilitating access to information
on biological diversity; and helping others to gather, manage, interpret and use
information,
Biodiversity Monitoring and Assessment
Service: assessing the status, value and management of biological diversity,
Knowledge Management Services: includes secure
storage, sharing and management of data on behalf of other agencies
and networks.
