Climate Change

Global temperatures are rising along with the seas. Further significant changes are likely to occur over the next 50 - 100 years. The world’s biodiversity is at threat, and an urgent response needs to be determined at international and regional levels.

WCMC has a programme to specifically address the issue of climate change as it relates to biodiversity.

Key projects focus on sensitive ecosystems in the Arctic and along coastlines; including coral reefs and mangroves, and examine the effect on the world’s forests.
