WCMC’s range of services continue to grow in diversity.
Every year we manage a portfolio of over a hundred projects, we work
on environmental reporting issuing information in support of other’s
activities and provide biodiversity data for environmental emergencies.
Some of the services we currently offer to all clients
are:
Bespoke reports:
tailored to defined user needs, including information ranging from maps
and descriptions of protected areas to lists of key contacts.
Biodiversity profiles: drawing information together
to brief users on biodiversity issues world wide, allowing you to focus
your information needs further before dealing with specialists at national
(or lower) levels.
Biodiversity summaries: information on particular
species or habitats, to support the development of conservation programmes.
Biodiversity mapping: researching new information
and incorporating into our data sets; producing specialist maps; adding
your data to maps.
Analyses of information: such as reviews of
the coverage of particular habitat types by protected areas, or the
proximity of species locations to transport networks.
Information on laws and regulations: helping
industry with compliance issues, or advising on country obligations
under international biodiversity related conventions.
Emergency response and contingency planning information:
information
for emergency responses to protect key sites and species
from any damaging effects
from oil spills, forest fires or war.
High-risk areas and industries may require additional information in
order to develop contingency plans.
Access to Extranet sites: WCMC plans to make
our GIS datasets available over the Internet using innovative Internet
Map Server technology.
