For many years, WCMC has supplied both the written and broadcast media with a wide range of information from field contacts for films about African parks to information on the trade in animal skins. We continue to alert the media to environmental issues through our work with NGO's and through our vast information holdings.

Examples of our information used by the media include:

• Gulf war: reporting on the environmental effects of oil spills from this conflict on the important biodiversity in the Gulf waters.
• Maps and background information on environmental catastrophes from the 1997/98 Indonesian forest fires, to the Milford Haven oil spill.
