Ordered chaos has descended upon the main lobby – everybody’s running to and fro  between piles of boxes, t-shirts, brochures, copies of the Book of Abstracts, flyers, cups of coffee, sweets, our famous “Gummibärchen”. Printers and scanners and notebooks and espresso machines are being set up – and the first conference attendants have already arrived for a sneak preview!

Believe it, Hamburg is a beautiful city, even when it’s raining.  The weather forecast has unfortunately crushed the hope to present our hometown from its best side (actually the sunny side). welcome to the first arrivals!

48 hs to go, but some ADHO committee members have already assembled in Hamburg and will meet for a day-long exec meeting tomorrow. Also, our twelve international student assistants have begun to arrive – welcome!  The Hamburg team will be packing conference bags with them tomorrow and brief our guests about the venues, podcasting, blogging, surveys, technical matters etc.. Each international student will partner with one of our Hamburg students, so delegates will be assisted by twelve expert teams throughout the coming week.

Something new APPening @ DH2012?

Yes: our DH 2012 conference app for Android has now also gone live – and “Die Welt”, one of Germany’s leading daily newspapers, has published the first article on next week’s event!
