We hope you had as much fun at the conference banquet as the local organizing team and our student assistants did! More than 200 DH 2012 delegates enjoyed excellent food, fine drinks and the great show of Hamburg’s one and only Surf Band Skuzzlebuzz! The crowd was dancing and the party went on until past midnight – but for sure today’s sessions are as exciting as the other ones and you’ll stay awake until the closing session at 16:00.

It is the last day of DH2012 and we will soon be starting to wipe our tears and saying goodbye. But let’s focus on today’s programme: we have a few cancellations for Friday. T. Declerck’s presentation in LP 23 and the short paper presentations of C. Tatum and S. Wiesner in SP 08 are cancelled. We will close this conference in the afternoon with the keynote speech of Masahiro Shimoda from 16:00 – 17:00 followed by a few final words of thanks and DH perspectives. Don’t forget to pick up your poster from the West Wing Foyer in case you want to take it with you!

In the old building of Hamburg University standing on the staircase between the lecture halls Steve Crossan from the Google Cultural Institute speaks to the DH community. In his green T-Shirt he evokes an informal and friendly impression. Starting with the anecdote, that everybody in Paris tends to call him “Monsieur Croissant” he charms the audience immediately. At the foot of the staircase a delicious cold buffet and cold drinks are waiting to refresh the digital humanists at the end of a full conference day. Google is not only sponsor of this conference reception but also is engaged in numerous DH projects.

At the dh2012 one meets a lot of interesting people from all over the world. But all the meeting and greeting makes it hard to remember what places they come from or wich kind of projects they work on. That is why we worked out an online survey. You tell us what you are doing (anonymously) and we show you who the digital humanists are on a screen in the main building. So please follow this link whenever you have a few minutes of free time: Online Survey
