Note the diversity of cell types in the Secondary Xylem compared with Podocarpus. Also note the alternation of Fibers and conducting cells in the Secondary Phloem. Podocarpus also has fibers in its Phloem but they are not as abundant or as well organized as those in Tilia.

Note the annual Growth Rings in the Secondary Xylem. These occur in woody plants which experience distinct seasons.
