Jan Christoph Meister is Professor of Modern German Literature (Theory of Literature, Methodology of Textual Analysis and Literary Computing) at the University of Hamburg. His research interests include narrative theory, computational narratology and digital humanities. He is author of Computing Action. A Narratological Approach (2003), co-author of Time. From Concept to Narrative Construct (2011) and executive editor of The living handbook of narratology.
