Burkhard Niederhoff is Professor of English Literature at the University of Bochum and co-editor of Connotations: A Journal for Critical Debate. His narratological publications include Erzähler und Perspektive bei Robert Louis Stevenson (1994) as well as essays on point of view and focalization, the unreliable narrator in Stevenson, the poetics of the leitmotif, and the representation of unlived lives.
