The Project Kaleidoscope (PKAL) Summer Institute is a new venture, emerging from discussions about the next challenges to be faced in the reform of undergraduate SME&T after a decade of concerted activity by participants in PKAL and many other similar efforts. The decision was made to focus more intensively on two areas: institutional transformation and dissemination of proven reforms. This shifts the emphasis from reforms in individual courses and departments, and embraces the challenge to spread the word about what works both within and beyond institutions, and to commit to change that is systemic, more far-reaching and truly transformative.

This year, the Summer Institute will be held at Keystone Resort and Conference Center, Keystone Colorado. There are four separate workshop series, with multiple workshops being held during each.
