Secondary Growth in Stems 1,2,3

Vascular Cambium (VC)
Shoot Apical Meristem -> Procambium -> Primary Phloem & Xylem
Residual Procambium between Primary Phloem & Xylem Remains Meristematic  -> Vascular Cambium
Vascular Cambium divides Periclinally ->  Files of Cells
Cells displaced towards the inside -> Secondary Xylem
Cells displaced towards the outside -> Secondary Phloem
Cells of the Interfascicular Zone -> Induced to Divide
Vascular Cambia Merge -> Continuous Ring
Further Cambial Activity -> Secondary Xylem -> Wood
Wood Volume Increases -> Pressure -> Crush Oldest Phloem
Active Phloem produced by the VC

Cork Cambium
Shoot Apical Meristem (SAM) -> Protoderm -> Epidermis
SAM -> Ground Meristem -> Cortical Parenchyma
Cortical Parenchyma -> Cork Cambium -> Cork (Periderm)
Epidermis -> Demise -> Replaced by Outer Cork
