See if you can locate the Critical Structures!
Secondary Xylem (Red) occupies the Center of the Stem.
The Vascular Cambium is located along the outside of the Secondary Xylem.
The Secondary Phloem (Purple) is located just outside the Vascular Cambium.
The Phellogen (Yellow) is outside of the Secondary Phloem.
The Periderm (Orange-Red) is produced by the Phellogen (Cork Cambium).
Lenticils represent hyperactive regions of the Phellogen.
