Vascular Bundles may also contain Bundles of Fibers. These are usually associated with the Phloem and may be called Phloem Fibers. They are commonly known as Bast Fibers. The Fibers in hau and Flax are Bast Fibers. It is easy to distinguish between the Phloem and Phloem Fibers. It is also easy to distinguish the Xylem & Phloem Fibers. The Phloem is often difficult to define but in cases like this, Phloem lies between The Xylem and Bast fibers.
