NGMCP Descriptive Catalogue

This page replaces the static version of the former Mediawiki page. Since the project has not been active for a long time, we moved its content to the Web-Archive. You can search these pages by entering the site name after your search term in the search field of your Search engine. For example in case of searching for 'Śārīrakabhāṣya' in Google Search:
Śārīrakabhāṣya site:www-archiv.fdm.uni-hamburg.de

To reduce redundency we only kept Wiki-pages, which have been edited (see for a list of the Wiki-pages). For the complete metadata catalogue please visit the online title list .

About the Project

History

The Nepalese-German Manuscript Cataloguing Project [NGMCP] was the successor of the Nepal-German Manuscript Preservation Project. It was funded by the German Research Foundation from 2002. The main purpose of the project was to produce a descriptive catalogue of a significant part of about 160,000 manuscripts photographed by the NGMPP.

The Wiki meant as a platform to share the expertise of the community and a lot of scholars contributed their knowledge. Unfortunately there was no successor project and the Wiki was not maintained any further.

Consult also the online title list to discover manuscripts.
