Sexual Reproduction
Antheridia are on short branches near the Apex.
These Branches are Red <-> Purple in Color.
At maturity they Release Biflagellate Sperm.

Archegonia
They are found on Short Branches at the Capitulum Center.
They are comparatively large and are elevated on a definite Stalk.

Sporophyte

The Sporophyte (2N) is Photosynthetic.

It has a Foot that is embedded in the Gametophore.

The Seta is rather short but one is present.

Meiosis takes place in the Capsule.

An Annulus which consists of thin-walled cells circumscribes the summit of the Capsule. These
Thin Walled cells break when the capsule is mature. This allows the Spores to escape.

The summit of the Capsule, above the Annulus is called the Operculum.
Spore Release is Explosive and can rocket the Spores up to 15 cm

Air Pressure Inside Capsule= 2 atmospheres
