This chapter is dedicated to palm species that were once thought to be extinct but have since been rediscovered. Although the list is small, it is important. Please e-mail the webmaster if you are aware of other species that should be included here, or if you can add any pertinent information to these stories.

• Carpoxylon macrospermum (carpoxylon palm)
• Medemia argun (medemia palm)
• Wodyetia bifurcata (foxtail palm)
  Although not really "lost", the foxtail palm was only discovered as recently as 1995.
