This is Gaussia spirituana Moya et Leiva, in habitat with Celio Moya, who, with Dr. Angela Leiva, director of the botanical garden of La Habana, described the species in 1991. This species is restricted to a few limestone hills of Central Cuba (the specific name 'spirituana' is after the province of Sancti Spiritus).
