Students in [Dr. Schlessman's] laboratory have used rapid-cycling Brassica rapa in two ongoing projects. One involves experimental tests of theories on the optimal timing of the transition from vegetative to reproductive growth in annual plants. [They] are using the rosette mutant to compare fecundities of plants that begin flowering at different times. [The] second project is a study of the siring abilities of various mutant stocks of Rcb's that are available for teaching.
