Genetic analysis of the awn length diagnostic character in E. macrourus (Turcz.) Tzvel. and E. jacutensis (Drob.) Tzvel. complex was carried out. Plants included into hybridization were collected in different ecological geographical zones. These close related species vary in several morphological characters. Diagnostic distinctive character of these two species is the length of lemma awn: E. macrourus is awnlessness or with owns up to 3mm, E. jacutensis is with awns up to 12mm. Individual analysis of 143 plants revealed that the plants with long and short awns were equal in number. The plants with intermediate awns were twice. As those notice above that means they are in ratio: 1:1:1 and was controlled by one gene with incomplete dominance. For the comparison the genetic analysis of the own length character was carried out in E. sibiricus L. The results of hybridological analysis revealed that the awn length character in this species was controlled by two nonlinked additive genes.
