TRADITIONAL MEDICINAL PLANTS FOR CURING BURN AND SOFT WOUNDS OF VIETNAM

Burn and soft wounds are commonly met in the war and also in the peace-time, that's why a treatment for burn and soft wounds always is need. Since a long time Vietnamese have been using effectively traditional medicinal plants. So investigation, collection and inventory systematically for these traditional medicinal plants are urgent need. For the first time, 323 species of 103 families of the medicinal plants for burn and soft wounds in Vietnam representing 2,82% of the total of the Vietnamese flora and 17,23% of the Vietnamese medicinal plants (112 species for burn, 204 species for soft wounds) were collected. Of them, 88 species are found for the first time. They consist of the following plant forms: 121 herb, 92 woody, 78 shrub and 32 liana species. Using leaves is the largest of 142 species, the following: bark - 68 species, tuber, root or rhizome - 42 species, flower and fruit - 29 species, latex and oil - 20 species, essential oil - 14 species and the whole plant - 87 species.
