M.Shevera, Institute of Botany, 2 Tereshchenkivska, 252601, Kyiv-1, Ukraine

The Uzhgorod urban flora (Ukraine) consists of 760 species. The flora is considerably synanthropized (synanthropization index S=214) and modernized (modernization index M=1,24). Kenophytes are represented by 121 species. Among kenophytes, the most numerous is the American arealogical group, represented by 35 North American (14 epecophytes, 8 ergasiophytes, 11 agriophytes, and 2 ephemerophytes), 10 South American (7 epecophytes, 3 ergasiophytes) species and 1 species of North American-East Asian origin (epecophyte). The majority of North American kenophytes are naturalized in different types of semi-natural and man-made urban ecotopes. Terophytes, mesoxerophytes, heliophytes, mesotermophytes, urban-neutrals and euhemerobic taxa prevail in this group. Species of the genera Amaranthus L., Helianthus L., Echinocystis Torr. et Gray, Xanthium L., etc. are characterized by a wide distribution and active dispersal.
