THE CELL STRATEGY OF THE CARNIVOROUS PLANT GLANDS IN RELATION TO THE PROTEIN SECRETAION

L.E. Muravnik, Komarov Botanical Institute, St. Petersburg, Russia

The ultrastructure of the glands of some carnivorous plants depending on the digestive cycle stage was studied. The synthesis of hydrolytic enzymes in the Pinguicula takes place during maturation. RER of the head cells proliferates, activity of GA increases. After stimulation these proteins could be released. In the Aldrovanda the formation of the protein synthesis apparatus occurs during maturation when cisternae of the RER form stacks. The stimulation induces the stacks dissociation, endomembrane system activation, protein synthesis and secretion. In the Drosera the slime doesn't contain hydrolytic enzymes before stimulation, they synthesized in response to stimulation.
