The study of flora investing three agricultural cultivations Medicago sativa L., Triticum aestivum L. and Zea mays L, which followed one another in order in a saline ground of Durres (in the West of Albania) has shown the presence of 123 species. The halophytes represent 34 species (27.6%) of the flora and some of them are very frequent and constitute an abundant covering of terrain: Salsola kali L, Hordeum maritimum Stokes, Salicornia europaea L, Salsola soda L., spergula arvensis L., Eryngium maritimum L. etc. In three years of study (1993, 1994, 1995) a reduction in number of infesting species (84, 51, 24) is presented due to the farming operations carried out during annual cultivations and the reduction of salinity (0.1%), as well. It was also observed a reduction in the number of halophytes (31, 17, 6). The biological and chorological spectres have shown a flora of a Mediterranean type.
