XVI International Botanical Congess

This Manual will offer, in a single volume, keys, descriptions, illustrations, distribution maps, and full nomenclatural information for the grasses it treats. These include all native species and established introductions, many cultivated species, several introductions that have not become established, and all grasses on the USDA's Noxious Weed list. Over 70 taxonomists have contributed the generic treatments, many others have provided additional distributional and nomenclatural information. The nomenclatural material will be published late in 1999, but publication of the Manual itself may be as late as 2002 because of the time required to complete editing the treatments, develop the remaining illustrative material, and prepare the integrated manuscript.
