Description
"Stem mostly subterranean, 8-15 cm diam. Leaves 2-12 in the crown, 60-80 cm long, rachis not or slightly twisted; pinnae 80-170, standing vertically on the upper side of the rachis, simple, longest 8-20 cm long, 3-8 mm wide, sometimes a few basal ones reduced, often glaucous, entire or with 2 or 3 minute apical teeth, with 5-11 prominent veins below; petiole 5-15 cm long. Male cones 15-20 cm long, 4-5 cm diam., spines to 1 cm long. Female cones 15-25 cm long, 7-9 cm diam., longest spines to 3 cm long, seeds 2-3.5 cm long, scarlet" (1).Range
