Description

"Stem mostly subterranean, 10-20 cm diam. Leaves 2-12 in the crown, 60-110 cm long; rachis spirally twisted; pinnae 50-120 cm long, ± spreading and forwardly directed, simple and mostly entire except for 2-7 teeth towards apices, longest 18-30 cm long, 9-17 mm wide, with 10-13 prominent veins below, sometimes a few reduced but not spine-like. Male cones 15-25 cm long, 4-6 cm diam., spines to 1.8 cm long. Female cones 12-18 cm long, 7-9 cm diam., longest spines 1.5-2.5 cm long; seeds 2.5-3 cm long, scarlet" (1).

Range

Australia: NSW. "Grows in dry or wet sclerophyll forest on poor sandy soils in the Upper Richmond R. and Clarence R. valleys" (1).
